Match Play Rules

2026 Match Play Qualifier Results Final

The Matchplay championship will see a slightly revised format for the 2026 season.

1. Qualifying Round

• All participants must complete one 18-hole qualifying round during the qualifying window(June 22-July 7).

• Players may choose any tee time during the qualifying period.

• The gross score from the qualifying round will determine flight placement.

• Cost for the qualfier/tournament is $25.

2. Flight Placement

After qualifying is complete, players will be seeded into three flights:

A Flight (Championship Bracket)

• Top 16 qualifying scores

B Flight

• Next 16 qualifying scores

C Flight

• Next 16 qualifying scores

Each flight will have a 16-player match play bracket.

If entries exceed 48 players,  C Flight bracket will be increased.

Players competing in the A Flight (Championship Bracket) will earn Morwin Cup points. The only exception is the top two finishers in the B Flight. The B Flight Champion will receive 25 Morwin Cup points, and the B Flight Runner-Up will receive 15 Morwin Cup points.

3. Seeding

Within each flight, players are seeded based on qualifying score:

• 1 vs 16

• 2 vs 15

• 3 vs 14

• etc.

Reseeding after each round.

Match Format

• Single Elimination Match Play

• All matches are 18 holes.

• Winners advance to the next round.
